  Visited on Saturday for a drink, but after 25 minutes waiting to be served decided to go elsewhere . It was very busy so didn't think much about it . Fancied a Sunday roast the following day so booked a table online . Turned up at the allotted time and was shown to our table . When the waitress came to take our order she informed us that all the roasts had sold out . Bit surprised , but I ordered lamb shoulder and my wife the pork belly . 2 minutes later the waitress returned to inform us that our choices had also sold out . Not wanting to make a big deal of it my wife ordered fish and chips, and I went for the wagyu burger . When the meals arrived I had to send the burger back as it was barely warm . When a replacement eventually arrived it was very tasty and my wife enjoyed her meal although she had finished hers before mine arrived . People on the next table told us that their meals weren't hot either but they didn't want to make a fuss as they were local . The bill arrived and I had the price of a drink deducted as a goodwill gesture . I wouldn't even consider recommending the George Inn to anyone . They should employ more people at busy times , and ensure that they have the resources to fulfill their menu . Must say that Tyler and Carina did everything in their power to ensure a good visit, but they, like us , have every right to feel badly let down . The George Inn was very poor on 2 occasions and the 1 star review is all they deserve . If you want great food and great service at a decent price , try the Bathampton Mill and Il Mulino which are just down the road . Book in advance . Wish we'd found them sooner .

  Was looking forward to a G&T with Hendricks and cucumber, but was met with "nah, we haven't got any cucumber, sorry" after the gin was poured. Still the full cocktails menu price though. Lacklustre service. Cashews in a polystyrene cup. Classy.

  Really cosy feel. Excellent menu choices, friendly staff. Not too pricey either.
